How we fit

The process starts when our showroom staff receive the plan of your requirements. On receipt of the plan our showroom staff will contact you to discuss all the details of your plan ie. which edges are polished, the type of sink fitted, the type of cooker or hob, if you require upstands etc. When we have all the neccessary information we will send you an itemized quotation listing all the costs involved. 

Upon receipt of the quotation if you have any questions please contact our showroom staff either by phone or email. If the quotation is acceptable and you would like us to install your granite worktop please contact the showroom staff who will explain the rest of the process and arrange a time and dates for templating and fitting.

Templating involves producing an exact replica of the granite using a templating material. To produce a template we need all the relevant units to be in their final positions and must be level to within 2mm along the overall length of the units, all front edges straight to within 5mm along the overall length of the units. Any building work to be complete e.g. electrical work, plastering etc.  Any sinks need to be in position if they are undermounted or on site for overmount. All hobs need to be on site. If you have any specific requirements please discuss them with our stonemason at templating. We will then use these templates to cut your granite.

We aim to start cutting as soon as possible after templating, to do this it is helpful if we know in advance the type of granite you have chosen, so that we can have it waiting in stock.

The final process is to fit the granite all joints are jointed using an epoxy resin coloured to match your granite. We do not seal any undermount sinks to the granite unless specfically requested at the time of templating. 

Our fitting costs are for the fitting of the worktops only we are not registered to carry out any joinery, electrical or plumbing work, if you have any doubts what the fitting involves please discuss it with us prior to fitting.
